The Hus The Hus is a group in it's own right, but, it is associated by agreement, only with the Jomsborgelag -Sudhird. Members of The Hus portray the non-combatant members of the Household, the Gestir that are associated with the Jomsborgelag - Sudhird. Whilst it is accepted that an army marches on it's stomach, it also marches on feet, usually covered in naalbinding socks, encased in leather turned shoes and wearing a woolen kirtle with tablet woven braid at the hem and cuffs. In a correct historical interpretation, all of these items (including lunch) have to be made somewhere. This doesn't mean that The Hus members are merely there to produce items for the Jomsborgelag - Sudhird. Quite the contrary, they display the non military aspect of Viking living history. It is merely convenient for them to be associated with the Jomsborgelag - Sudhird, and fulfills a requirement for both groups to portray a fully rounded and complete recreation of the Viking world. To contact The Hus: Send an email to the Group Leader - WildtLanghaar Members of The Hus are expected to be able to show a proven Viking Age skill. In the same way that the Jomsborgelag - Sudhird wish to pursue mastery of arms and to display excellence of interpretation, it is also expected of members of The Hus to desire to achieve mastery of their chosen skill. Hus members with a proven skill are allowed one apprentice only. |
